Programs

The Thornhill Employment Hub assists job seekers and employers to participate in programs provided by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD). Here are the programs we currently assist with:

 

Apprenticeship Program

This program is for employers training an apprentice and an apprentice looking to complete their apprenticeship. As an apprentice, you learn a skilled trade on the job. You work with and learn from experienced workers, and get paid while you do it. We help with any questions and information about the program to help you through the process. More information here

Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG)

This program is for employees requiring training to improve their skills. The training helps enhance their knowledge and continue to be a productive employee in their organization. A Job Developer works through the approval process and insures achievement of the training with the employer and the employee.

Employment- Related Financial Supports

This program is to financially assist employers with hiring costs and job seekers with job search expenses. Our Job Developers and Employment Consultant work with our clients to determine eligibility and the expenses that could be cover. Each situation is unique and we approach each request on a case by case basis.

Better Jobs Ontario

This is a program giving an opportunity for laid off job seekers to get training and start a new career. Their current field/ industry no longer have the opportunities it previously available, so they’re transitioning to a new career that requires training. We provide information session about the program, and assist with the application process. The final approval will be from MLTSD. More information here
