Second Career (Better Jobs Ontario)

There have been some changes to this program (going to be adding Better Jobs Ontario), we are working on updating our information. Here is the details released from the provincial government for reference:

What is Second Career?

Second Career is a Government of Ontario retraining program that provides laid-off workers with financial support of up to $28,000 for skills training to help them find jobs in high-demand occupations in Ontario. Second Career is a cost sharing grant based on need, so you may be required to contribute to some of the costs of your retraining.

Qualified candidates may be eligible to receive financial help to pay for:

  • Tuition

  • Books, manuals, workbooks, uniforms or other instructional costs

  • Transportation costs

  • A basic living allowance

  • Child care costs (if applicable)

  • Disability supports (if applicable)
